Puri: At least one person sustained injuries in a bomb hurling and firing incident over suspected past rivalry in Chhotijodi village under Gadasanaput panchayat in Puri district on Friday.
The injured person has been identified as Neelakantha Chhualsingh of the same locality.
Neelakantha was en-route to work by riding his motorcycle in the morning when the attack took place. A group of four bike-borne miscreants waylaid him on the village road and targeted with bombs.
The attackers resorted to blank firing to create panic post the attack and drove away from the spot.
The victim, who sustained grievous injuries to his right hand and thigh in the attack was rushed to Khordha District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and then shifted to a private hospital for treatment by some locals later.
Khordha Police has lodged a case in connection with the incident and started the investigation.
