Jajpur: In a shameful incident, a man has been held in Rudrapur village under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district for allegedly sexually assaulting none other than his own daughter.
The accused has been identified as Abhimanyu Samal.
As per a complaint filed at Binjharpur Police Station by the accused’s wife, he was involved in raping his minor daughter for past six months despite her repeated warning and protest. However, the inhumanity of the accused crossed all limits on June 16 after he attacked his wife with a brick to inflict head injury as she tried to prevent her daughter’s sexual assault again.
Later, based on the complaint of the victim Binjharpur Police Station IIC arrested the accused from his house and charged him under Sections 376,323 and 307 of IPC.
“The minor girl and her mother’s statements have been recorded under Section 164 of IPC and all medical examinations of both the accused and the victim have been completed in the case,” informed Jajpur SDPO Rabindra Kumar Jena.
The accused will be forwarded to court soon, the SDPO added.
