Balasore: In a shocking incident a man hacked his younger brother to death over a land dispute in Bishnupur village under Simulia police limits in Balasore today.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Chandra Mati of the same locality.
As per the report, a long-standing dispute between Suresh and his elder brother and the accused Kailash Chandra Mati took an ugly turn this morning after the duo indulged in an argument. In a fit of rage, Kailash took out a sword kept at his house and started hacking his younger brother repeatedly.
Some neighbours of the victim rescued him in critical condition later and rushed to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where doctors declared him brought dead.
Simulia Police has seized the body for autopsy and detained Kailash’s wife, son and daughter for interrogation as he is absconding.
