Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, a man hacked his brother-in-law over a family feud in Bidyabandha village under Dhenkanal Sadar police limits here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Nagesh Rout.
As per the report, a verbal duel erupted between Nagesh and his brother-in-law (sister’s husband) identified as Rudra Narayan Nayak late last night over some issue. As the argument escalated further, the accused took out a sharp weapon and attacked the victim brutally, in which he bled profusely and succumbed on the spot.
The victim’s wife and mother also sustained injuries in the attack of Rudra in their attempt to save him.
Police rushed to the spot and sent the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment following the attack.
Police also seized the weapon of the crime, a bill-hook, from the spot and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
