Bhubaneswar: A 41-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death in front of an apartment near Balianata, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar this evening. Though the exact reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained, police suspect business rivalry behind the murder.
The deceased has been identified as Pritam Routray, a land broker staying at Laxmisagar area. Eyewitnesses said that he was accompanied by another man. “Both had a heated argument following which the other man started attacking him with a sharp-edged weapon. He screamed for help but no one dared to stop the man,” said an eyewitness.
Routray has sustained multiple injuries and succumbed on the spot. Police reached the spot and have sent the body for postmortem. “We got the picture of the accused thorough the CCTV installed at the apartment. We are trying to identify the accused,” said a police official.
