Boudh: In a tragic incident, a man was hacked to death by none other than his younger brother and nephew in Jiral village under Purunakatak police limits in the district over a property dispute last night.
The deceased has been identified as Bibhishan Swain.
The accused identified as Anand Swain call on Bibhishan for a discussion on property issues last night after a discussion with his son. During the discussion a heated argument reportedly erupted between the duo and in a fit of rage the accused hacked the victim with an axe. His son assisted him in the crime.
While the victim bled profusely in the attack his minor daughter identified as Lakshmi Swain tried to save him and also sustained injury in the attack.
The injured father-daughter duo was rushed to Boudh DHH in an ambulance by family members where doctors declared Bibhishan brought dead. Condition of the daughter remains to be critical, said doctors treating her.
Police have registered a case in the incident and trying to trace the accused who is absconding since the incident.
