Cuttack: A man was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants in Ghatkul area under Madhupatna Police Station limits in the city today.
The victim has been identified as Basant Dora of Bamphi Sahi area.
Some locals in Ghatkul area called up police and informed about the murder after they spotted Basant lying in a pool of blood this afternoon. The victim was found struck on the head with a sharp instrument. A bike and a mobile phone were also found near the dead body.
Madhupatna Police reached the spot and sent the dead body for autopsy and started an investigation. Four persons had been detained by police on suspicion in the incident when this story was being filed.
