Cuttack: Unidentified miscreants gunned down a man over suspected past enmity on Baradalia-Thakurani road near Madhupalli under Baideswar police limits here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Baliarsingh of Manipur village.
As per the report, Arjun who had been to a nearby village in some work and was returning home when the miscreants struck. A group of bike-borne assailants suspected to be residents of the victim’s village waylaid near Madhupalli and fired at his head from close range before fleeing from the spot.
Later, police rushed to the spot following intimation and admitted the victim to Kalapathar hospital and then shifted to Khordha DHH where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have seized the body for autopsy and lodged a case in connection with the case.
