Cuttack: A man, who was missing since last two days; his body was found floating in the Mahanadi River near Jatamundia near Banki here.
The victim has been identified as Kabi Behera of Karabara Village under Banki Police limits.
As per reports, deceased Kabi Behera left his house two days ago to take a bath in the river but never returned. Worried about him, his family lodged a missing person’s complaint at Banki Police Station.
Taking actions in favour of this complaint, a fire fighting team launched a search operation at the Mahanadi river but came back empty-handed at the end of the operation.
Earlier in the morning today, some locals informed the Police about a body floating in the river. Upon receiving the information, a team comprising of Police and the Fire service reached the site and retrieved the body out of the river.
As of now, there is not much information about the incident but the police officers have started an investigation.
