Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, a man aged around 35 engulfed in fire was found climbing down the Khandagiri Hill, one of the crowded tourist spots of Odisha, here on Thursday.
He was rescued by some tourists present at the site and rushed immediately to the Capital Hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared him brought dead.
On being informed, the Commissionerate Police visited the hospital and the spot to find out the whereabouts of the deceased and what he was doing there.
Informing about the matter to newsmen, DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said, “We have started an investigation into the matter. Our priority is to establish the identity of the youth. We will also find out whether somebody set him ablaze or he torched himself to commit suicide.”
The incident has raised question over security arrangements in the tourist locations of the state.
