Man Dies Due To ‘Medical Neglect’ In Odisha

Jharsuguda: Tension prevailed at Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital after a 30-year-old died of alleged medical negligence today.

The deceased has been identified as Khetramani Kisan, a resident of Jalibahal village under Laikera block in this district.

As per reports, Kisan was rushed to the hospital after consuming poison. His relatives however alleged that his treatment could begin after one hour due to negligence of the hospital authorities.

“We pleaded for his immediate treatment but the doctor did not attend him. Besides, it took around 30 minutes to arrange a stretcher to shift the patient. Had the doctors started immediate treatment his life could have been saved,’ alleged a relative.

On the other hand, hospital authorities denied any negligence on their part and said that his condition was critical when he reached the hospital. “Our doctors tried their best to save the patient,” hospital authorities said.
