Balangir: An elderly woman was brutally crushed to death by her husband in Tikrapada village under Saintala Tehsil in the district last night over family feud.
The deceased has been identified as Jayashree Sahoo, wife of Srinivas Sahoo.
As per the neighbours of the victim, a dispute erupted between the couple late in the night over some issue. After the verbal duel escalated to a heated argument, Srinivas brought a stone lying near the house and attacked the victim brutally. He crushed the head of the victim in a fit of rage killing her on the spot.
Balangir Town Police reached the spot immediately and arrested the accused husband. They also seized the body and sent for postmortem to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Balangir.
Investigation is underway in the incident.
