Khordha: By busting a highway looter gang, police arrested an accused while trying to loot coal tar containers from a truck on National Highway-16 in Tangi area here last night.
The held looter has been identified as Feroze Khan of Sorana village of the same district.
Acting upon a tip-off on the loot Tangi Police conducted a raid on the highway last night and found Feroze trying to loot at least 6 drums of tar from a parked truck. The cops immediately seized the containers and took the accused into custody.
Later based on the information extracted from Feroze at least 15 more containers which were earlier stolen by him were recovered from different places by police.
Further interrogation of the accused is underway to elicit more information and he would be forwarded to court once it gets completed, said Tangi IIC Saroj Kumar Upadhyay.
