Sambalpur: A man has been arrested for attacking his wife with an axe. As per reports, the fateful incident took place at Bheluapala village in Kuchinda NAC of Sambalpur district. The accused has been identified as Bramha Bagha.
The woman was allegedly attacked by her husband when she was going to the jungle to collect firewood for cooking. After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene.
The victim received severe injury in her waist and head in the attack. She was rushed to the Sub Divisional hospital at Kuchinda. Later, she was shifted to the VSS Medical College and Hospital in Burla as her condition deteriorated. She is said to be still critical.
Kuchinda Police has registered a case in this connection and the investigation is going on.
