Man attacks on-duty post peon in Odisha’s Balasore district

Balasore: In a rare and unfortunate incident a man crossed all limit and attacked a post peon who had visited his house to deliver a registered letter in Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.

Video of the incident has gone viral while staffs of the concerned Post office have demanded strong action against the culprit.

The accused person has been identified as Basudev Parida of Guhalipada village. The victim post peon has been identified as Paritosh Dalai.

As per reports, a post peon of Jamsuli post office under Singla Police limits in Jaleswar area had gone to deliver a registered letter to the house of Basudev. Before handing over the letter as he asked Basudev to put his signature in the register as per Postal rule, Basudev allegedly attacked him.

Reportedly, Basudev not only beat the on duty post peon he also threw some letters that the post peon was carrying, to the nearby pond.

Somehow after getting information, the post peon’s father rushed to the spot to rescue his son, but Basudev attacked both the father and the son.

Paritosh has lodged an FIR in this connection at Singla Police Station and Police have started investigation of the case.

All staffs of Jamsuli Post Office sat in dharna in front of the Post Office demanding action against the wrongdoer.
