Man Accused Of Making Death Threat To Anubhav Mohanty Held

Bhubaneswar:  The special squad of Commissionerate Police has arrested a person from Gujarat, accused of making a death threat to Rajya Sabha MP and BJD’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Anubhav Mohanty.

According to police, the arrestee hails from Khallikote area in Ganjam district. He is a mason by profession and was staying in a rented house at Jhanjirmangala area in Cuttack.

On April 30, Anubhav Mohanty had received a death threat and an extortion demand of Rs 10 lakh through WhatsApp message.

The person had threatened to kill Mohanty if the latter does not pay the amount.

Post the incident, the actor-turned-politician lodged a complaint at Purighat Police Station in Cuttack city following which a probe was initiated into the matter.
