Malkangiri sizzles at 40.5 degree Celsius temperature

Bhubaneswar: Malkangiri was the hottest place of the day in the State as it recorded a temperature of 40.5 degree Celsius, said a bulletin issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Apart from Malkangiri 13 other places recorded maximum temperatures of above 35 degree Celsius today. The 13 places included the state Capital city Bhubaneswar which witnessed maximum temperature of 37.6 degree Celsius.

Likewise, Cuttack recorded 36.2 degree Celsius, Balangir recorded the maximum temperature of 38 degree Celsius followed by Jharsuguda 37.8 degree Celsius, Bhawanipatna 37 degree Celsius and Talcher of 37.9 degree Celsius.

The mercury rose to 33.9 degree Celsius in Balasore, Puri (32.8), Keonjhar (33.7), Sundergarh (37) and Sonepur (37.6).
