Sambalpur: A major fire broke out in a tar factory at Jayantpur under Sambalpur Sadar Police limits late last night.
Properties worth lakhs were gutted in the fire mishap. The exact cause of the fire is unknown as per the latest report. No casualty has been reported yet.
As flames continued to intensify, the fire became uncontrollable with thick black smoke emerging from the building, thus creating a panic in the area.
On being alerted, three fire tenders rushed to the spot and have doused the flames with great difficulty.
Earlier, fire mishap has occurred in this factory for six times.
