Bhubaneswar: In a welcome respite from the sweltering heat, most places in Odisha saw major drop in temperatures on Friday.

There has been a spate of rain and thundershower in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in the early afternoon hours.

Rain is predicted in as many as 15 districts of Odisha. There has been almost a drop of temperature in the capital city of Bhubaneswar by as 12 degree Celsius today.

Here are the temperatures recorded across Odisha by 2:30 pm today: 

Bhubaneswar: 29.0°C
Balasore: 31.8°C
Chandali : 33.0 °C
Paradip: 28.4°C
Gopalpur : 36.0°C
Puri : 35.0°C
Jharsuguda : 37.6°C
Keonjhar : 28.6°C
Sambalpur : 33.0°C
Hirakud: 32.0 °C

It is worth mentioning that, rain is predicted in as many as 15 districts of Odisha including the twin cities, said the latest MeT Bulletin.

Rain and thunderstorm shall be experienced in the twin cities. Wind speeds of upto 40kmph to 50kmph are expected, said reports.

The 15 districts in which rain and thunderstorms are expected are: Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Boudh, Dhenkanal, angul, Ganjam, Gajapati and Nayagarh.
