Maa Bhattarika idol relocated as flood water inundates temple

Cuttack: With heavy rain pounding the state in past few days and sending several rivers into spate, the flood water from river Mahanadi has entered into the famous Maa Bhattarika temple in Narasinghpur in Cuttack district on Monday.

All the rituals including the morning puja at the temple were stopped due to the rain water ingress and the idol of the deity was also shifted to a safer place, says reports.

The decision of idol relocation was taken by the Endowment Department this morning witnessing the presence on flood water presence inside the temple premise.
