Rourkela: The Brahmani Tarang police station seized a luxury car for transportation of ganja and seized ganja weighing 32 kilograms last night.
Police have also arrested two accused identified as Biswajit Kumar and Dinesh Keshari, both natives of Bihar.
Police said that they detained the Honda City car during vehicle checking on Vedvyas-Kumarmunda Road on NH-143.
“Both the accused fumbled when we asked them to produce the documents of the vehicle. Later we found the contraband stashed in two sacks from the car. Both the accused confessed that they were transporting the ganja from Bihar to Sambalpur. They also told that they used the luxury car for transportation to avoid police suspicion,” said a police official.
Police said that both the accused have number of cases pending against them at various police stations in Rourkela and Sambalpur. “Further investigation is continuing to further verify the antecedents of both the accused,” added the police official.
