Bhubaneswar: While political analysts believe that late Congress heavyweight Lulu Mohapatra’s family’s induction to BJP fold would create problem for Brahamagiri BJD MLA Sanjay Das Burma, he outrightly rejected the speculation today.
In an exclusive interview with Kalinga TV, Das Burma said Brahmagiri constituency no more stands as a Congress bastion from where Lulu was an unbeatable leader. In fact the people in Brahmagiri have placed their faith in BJD and Naveen Patnaik.
Claiming that Naveen-led BJD government is busy in fulfilling the dreams of people and enjoys a vote percentage of 55% in the state, Das Burma said that the party also performed well in the panchayat election in Brahmagiri area. He added that, no regional party in India had won four consecutive Assembly polls like BJD and hence late Lulu’s daughter Upasana and brother Lalitendu’s joining BJP matters a little.
However, Das Burma dubbed Lulu as a great youth leader from Congress and said he had no problem in accepting it.
Notably, Upasana Bidyadhar Mohapatra and Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra joined BJP at a special function held at Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar yesterday along with hundreds of members of Lulu Sena.
