Low pressure likely to trigger rain in Odisha around Sept 18

Bhubaneswar: The city-based India Meteorological Department (IMD) today predicted that a low pressure area is likely to be formed over the Bay of Bengal around September 18 which would trigger rainfall in Odisha.

An IMD bulletin said that, “A low pressure area is likely to be formed over west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal around 18th September. Strengthening of winds prior to this development may happen over Andaman sea, east-central and south Bay of Bengal from 16th September,”

In view of the likely adverse sea conditions, fishermen of the state are advised not to venture into these areas on 16th­-18th September and also plan based on the further updates in this regard, the bulletin added.
