Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre situated here in Bhubaneswar, has informed that a low-pressure area has formed over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal early on Wednesday morning.
The weather department took to its official Twitter handle and wrote “Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Equatorial Indian Ocean & adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal a Low-Pressure Area has formed over the same region and the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to midtropospheric levels.”

On the other hand, the met officials issued a heatwave alert for parts of Odisha for the next three days from March 16 to 18. The temperatures are likely to rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.

The lowest temperature of the day was recorded in Gopalpur, which witnessed a temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius, said the weatherman.
