Low pressure forms over North Odisha, To Trigger Heavy Rainfall In State

Bhubaneswar: A Low-Pressure area has formed over North Odisha and adjoining south Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal, informed the Meteorological department on Monday.

Reportedly, under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over south Jharkhand and neighbourhood, the low-pressure area has formed. It has formed with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level, added MeT.

The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in Odisha for the next five days.

An orange warning has been issued to five districts including Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Balangir for the next 24 hours for heavy to very heavy rains whereas a yellow warning to 17 districts.

Likewise, five districts including Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundergarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj have been issued an orange while 14 districts have been issued yellow warnings for tomorrow.

Similarly, the meteorological department warned of heavy rains on July 5 in 10 districts, in 18 districts on July 6, and in 17 districts on July 7.
