Low pressure area is likely to form over Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall warning issued in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The city-based regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal and issued a heavy rainfall warning for Odisha.

“A low pressure area is likely to form over north-west and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by tomorrow,” said the IMD.

Meanwhile, the weatherman issued Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha. “Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Deogarh and Kandhamal till 8.30 AM tomorrow,” said the weatherman.

“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri,” the weatherman added.
