Bhubaneswar: Two young lovebirds committed suicide by hanging themselves from the ceiling of an under-construction apartment at Sailashree Vihar here today.
The deceased have been identified as Umesh Mahali (19) and Jyoshna Mahali (18) of Mayurbhanj district.
According to sources, some locals noticed their bodies hanging from the ceiling of an under-construction apartment with a chunri (stole) and informed the Chandrasekharpur police about the matter.
Police arrived on the spot and sent the bodies to the Capital Hospital for postmortem and started an investigation into the matter.
Both of them had run away from their houses some days ago and were living in Sailashree Vihar area of the state capital city, added the sources.
