Khordha: Looters had a field day in Asarala village in Khordha district last night and threw an open challenge to police by burgling as many as five houses.
As per the report, locals remained unaware of the looting spree which took place late in the night while they were asleep. A group of miscreants decamped with cash, jewellery and other valubles worth lakhs by breaking the door and window grills of the victim houses, which came to light this morning only.
Khordha Police has arrived in the village and started an investigation to trace the robbers.
The series loot has left residents in the village in a state of panic.
