Looters fail to loot bank in Dhenkanal as security siren goes off

Dhenkanal: Unidentified miscreants made an attempt to loot Odisha Gramya Bank Dhenkanal branch here last night but fled from the spot as security siren of the building went off.

As per the report, the looters sneaked into the bank by breaking the asbestos roof of a room located in the backyard. Later they managed to reach its strong room at around 12.30 AM by breaking the grills with gas cutters with a motive to loot cash and other valuables.

However, the looters got panicked after the security alarm installed inside went off suddenly alerting the cops at Dhenkanal Town Police Station which is just 100 metres away from the spot.

While police rushed to the spot immediately the looters managed to give them a slip by leaving behind jail-breaking items.

The Dhenkanal Town Police IIC Abhinav Dalua along with a forensic team reached the bank this morning and initiated probe.

The looters have failed to steal any item from the bank, assured the Branch Manager Prafulla Behera after conducting an inspection at the branch of late.
