Loot plan inspired by TV show foiled, three arrested

Cuttack: A loot plan that was based on the popular TV series “Crime Petrol” has been foiled by police in Cuttack. Lalbagh police has arrested three accused in this case including a young woman who was working as an agent in a private finance company and another minor.

The accused have been identified as Pinky alias Priyanka Sahu and Puchu alias Arvind Nayak. According to reports, Priyanka who works as an agent for a private finance company, planned this robbery along with her friend when she needed money by watching “Crime Petrol” on TV.

Earlier on May 2, Pinky called her office supervisor, Sadiya Khatun, near the Sutahat Church to pick up the money. And when Sadiya reached there, two unknown men on a bike suddenly came and looted the bag with the money.

Sadiya immediately informed the Lalbagh police and registered a case. After that police started the investigation. During the investigation, police suspected Pinky of robbery and interrogated her. Later, Pinky confessed to the robbery. Police have arrested Pinky along with his accomplice Puchu and another juvenile in the loot case. 

Police also seized Rs 35,000 and two bikes (OR OSAT 7844, OD 05A W 1371) from the possession of the arrested persons, added the DCP.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
