Loot Bid Foiled In Jagatsinghpur Of Odisha, Bank Set On Fire By

Jagatsinghpur: Unidentified robbers broke into the Odisha Gramya Bank branch at Jagatsinghpur Dakisahi square and set the bank on fire after failing to break open the safety locker and loot the cash.

Police said the robbers had entered the bank but found it difficult to break the safety locker. Angered by it, they set the bank papers on fire and escaped the scene.

On being alerted, local police reached the bank and found the bank open while all the papers were burnt. The robbers had escaped leaving behind a bag and other equipment used to break open the bank.

The bank officials also reached the spot. Luckily, the cash in the safety locker was intact.

“We are browsing through the CCTV footage to see if we can get any clue,” police said.
