Bhubaneswar: Two robbers were caught red-handed while they were trying to snatch a gold chain from a woman in Indira Colony under Dhauli police limits in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the woman had walked to a nearby market with her daughter. While they were returning home, the two miscreants chased them on a bike and tried to snatch the gold chain from the woman.
The woman used her presence of mind and grabbed the hand of the looter tightly. As a result both the miscreants fell off their bike and sustained injuries. Later, the locals surrounded and thrashed them in a fit of rage.
On getting the information, Dhauli police arrived at the spot. They rescued the looters from the locals and rushed them to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Balakati.
The woman has filed a complaint with Dhauli police.
