Bhubaneswar: The appointment of Lokayukta issue disrupted the proceedings of Odisha Assembly for the 3rd consecutive day on Saturday.

Both Congress and BJP members created ruckus and stalled the business of the House over the delay in appointment of the Lokayukta. Besides, they demanded an apology from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik alleging that the state government has filed a false affidavit in the Supreme Court.

Deputy Speaker Sananda Marandi adjourned the House till 11.30 AM following the commotion over the issue.

When the House reassembled the Speaker adjourned the House again till 3 PM as the Opposition legislators continued to disrupt the House.

Leader of Opposition Narsingha Mishra had earlier alleged that the BJD government filed false affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that the Lokayukta Act has been already implemented in the state from January 2015. He had demanded that CM Naveen Patnaik should present the Odisha Gazette Notification in this regard or should resign.
