Locals vandalize electricity office as farmer dies of electrocution

Sundergarh: A farmer died of electrocution after touching a snapped live wire in Sanagogua village under Bonai police limits in Sundergarh district today and locals vandalized electricity office protesting the mishap.

The deceased has been identified as Shyamghan Sahu of the same village.

As per the report, the victim who visited his farmland located near the village for agricultural work was busy ploughing the field while unknowingly touched an 11KV live wire which had fallen there. He died on the spot.

After the news of the death of the victim spread in the village locals staged a protest against the electricity department and ransacked Bonai electricity office.

Police have rushed to the spot after getting an intimation on the incident.
