Locals thrash 7 looters over cash loot bid in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Locals of Chhatabar village in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, thrashed seven bike-borne looters for their cash loot bid and handed them over to the local police.

According to reports, one Jitendra Nayak, an employee of Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited, Khurdha was going to Aranga from Angarapada after collecting money from Minchinpatna. Meanwhile, seven robbers came in three motorcycles and snatched the cash bag containing Rs 70,000 from Nayak after assaulting him and rushed towards Chhatabar village.

However, their attempt to loot was foiled as they were intercepted by the locals who thrashed them black and blue before the local police, on being informed, came to their rescue.

Three bikes and seven mobile phones have been seized from the accused. Besides, the looted cash was also recovered.

Police registered a case at Chandaka police station and started an investigation into the matter. Police said that the accused are involved in many cases in Bhubaneswar and Khurdha.
