Odisha: Locals raise eyebrow over CRPF Jawan’s abnormal death, detain hearse

Kendrapara: Tension ran high at Aradapalli village under Pattamundai Tehsil of Kendrapara district after the locals raise eyebrows over a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan’s abnormal death and detained the ambulance, that had carried his body today.

According to reports, the CRPF jawan, who has been identified as Mihir Ranjan Panda of Aradapalli village, fell sick when he was in his in-law’s house in Bhubaneswar. He was admitted at the Capital Hospital for treatment but died while undergoing treatment on May 25.

The CRPF jawan’s body was taken to his native village in an ambulance for the last rites. However, his family members and villagers raised eyebrows over the exact cause of his death.

Apart from detaining the hearse vehicle, they filed a written complaint at Pattamundai Police Station and demanded the postmortem of Mihir’s body.

The deceased jawan was posted at 196 battalions of the CRPF in Chhattisgarh. However, he had come on holiday.
