Puri: Some angry locals on Thursday locked up a headmaster of a school in Nimapara area of the district for allegedly raping a Class V girl student. The accused headmaster has been identified as Nabaghana Sethy (50).
As per the allegation, Sethy has been assaulting the minor girl sexually since a long period. Besides, he used to molest her whenever he found the minor alone in the classroom. However, the matter came to the light only today when the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother who then intimated the same to the villagers.
Irate over the incident, a group of villagers rushed to the school and locked up the headmaster in one of the classrooms.
On being informed about the incident, the local police rushed to the school and rescued the accused headmaster from the classroom.
Police also have initiated an investigation into the matter.
