Cuttack: Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das launched a Liver Transplantation Unit and Child Allergy OPD at SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Monday.
Names of some patients registered their names for the liver transplantation and their treatment would begin after some months.
A team of doctors and support staff from surgical gastroenterology, hepatology, anaesthesia, radiology and pathology departments would conduct the transplantation.
Around 25-30 lakh of rupees is usually required for the liver transplantation but with the launching of the Liver Transplant Unit, people will get the treatment now free of cost.
SCB Medical College and Hospital Superintendent Prof Dr Lucy Das, Dean and Principal of SCB Medical College Datteswar Hota, SCB Medical College emergency officer Bhubanananda Moharana, Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Ananya Das and Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Souvic Biswal were among others who attended the launching ceremony.
Ms Kalinga
