Boudh: On the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted a raid with the help of Boudh Forest Officials on Tuesday afternoon.
The raid took place near Khuntigura village between Kantamal – Baliguda Road under Kantamala police station under Boudh district.
One wildlife criminal identified as Biseswar Bagarti was apprehended dealing and possession of wildlife products.
During search one Live Pangolin weighing 12 kg 400 gm and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession.
The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of possession of such live Pangolin.
Biseswar Bagarti has been detained and handed over to Kantamal Forest Officials under Boudh Forest Division for necessary legal action at their end.
The Live Pangolin also handed over to DFO Boudh for safe custody.
A Special drive against the wildlife criminals/poachers is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized as many as 15 Nos. of live pangolins.
