Live pangolin rescued in Kandhamal, 2 arrested

Kandhamal: A team of the Forest Department of Odisha has rescued a live pangolin and arrested two wildlife poachers on Friday in Balguda of Kandhamal district.

The accused have been identified as Tripat Kapat Patra and Mithun Padmaset of Matigada area of Srirampur.

Based on a piece of reliable information regarding the deal of live pangolin, the Baliguda Kotgarh Forest Department team conducted a raid near Jubaguda square while the deal was underway.

The team of forest officials arrested the two wildlife criminals from the spot and rescued the live pangolin.

The rescued pangolin will be around three feet long. A probe has been initiated into the matter.
