Bhubaneswar: The Nandankan Zoological Park authorities on Saturday rescued at least 45 tourists after a Lion Safari bus got stuck in a muddy patch in the middle of the wild beast’s home.

According to reports, a bus carrying the tourists to Lion Safari to view the lions from near in the zoo got stuck in a muddy patch after the front wheel of the bus skidded off the road and got stuck in mud and remained there about 30 minutes.

The front wheel of the bus slightly skidded off the road and got stuck in mud.

After getting information, the zoo authorities sent another empty bus to the spot to bring the visitors back. They had to put two lions in a cage, which was a tough affair for them, to rescue the tourists safely. Fortunately, no untoward incident took place and the rescue operation was successful.

A JCB machine has been deployed to evacuate the bus from the Lion Safari.
