Baripada: Three persons were killed after being struck by lightning in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Koushik Mahanta, Dibyashankar Mahanta and Jaminikanta Mahanta of Badapathara village under Khunta police limits in the district.
The trio was hit by the lightning when they were fishing in a pond near the village. They died on the spot, locals said.
On being informed, Khunta police reached the village and sent the bodies to a hospital for autopsy test.
