Nuapada: A pall of gloom descended on Mallikamunda area in Nuapada district of Odisha this afternoon following the death of four persons due to a lightning strike.
Sources said that a group of people was carrying out a construction work of a house in Mallikamunda village in the district. In the meantime, lightning struck them leaving four persons including two women dead on the spot.
Two others also sustained critical burn injuries after being hit by the lightning. They were immediately rushed to Komna hospital for treatment,
The deceased persons have been identified as Tirtha Nag, Laxman Nag, Chudamani Nag and Gunsagar Nag. It is said that all of them belong to one family of the village. added the sources.
