Sundergarh: Making merry during a wedding event turned out to be a sorrowful event as a lightning strike killed one and injured seven others at Saleipalli village under Lahunipada Police limits of the district.
The deceased person has been identified as Manha Oram.
According to reports, lightning struck a particular area of Saleipalli village where a marriage event was being held today. While Oram died on the spot, seven others who sustained injuries were rushed to Lahunipada hospital immediately for treatment. All of them are said to be stable.
Lahunipada Police said that Oram’s body will be handed over to his family members after conducting a postmortem.
A pall of gloom descended on the area following the unfortunate death of Oram during the time of celebration.
