Light to moderate rainfall to occur in Odisha for two days, check details  

Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of approaching western-disturbance and moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal at lower level, it is expected that light to moderate rainfall activity is very likely to occur during 3rd and 4th February 2022 over districts of Odisha, informed the regional Meteorological centre here today.

Also, isolated thunderstorm accompanied with hail is likely to occur in some districts of Odisha during this period. Some impact on agriculture is expected due to this weather phenomenon, it added.

Rainfall forecast & warning as follows:

  • Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and at one or two places over the rest of districts of North Odisha and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of South Odisha between 8.30 AM of February 3 to 8.30 AM of February 4.
  • Rainfall warning: Yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Deogarh and Keonjhar.
  • Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha & at a few places over the districts of South Odisha from 8.30 AM of February 4 to 8.30 AM of February 5.
  • Rainfall warning: Yellow warning for a thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and hailstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
