Let your ‘Seva’ be your identity: Odisha CM to youths

Cuttack: “Seva (service) is the best religion and let your ‘Seva’ be your identity,” said Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday.

Addressing the Youth Conclave of Biju Yuva Bahini at Bali Jatra Ground here this evening, Patnaik said, “I am extremely happy that you have made your service and humanity as your religion.”

“Seva (service) brings courage, discipline, encourage teamwork and planning. One needs commitment and hard work and there is no alternative to service. I wish may your service be your identity and the identity of the land of Odisha,” he added.

Apart from addressing the youth, the CM also inaugurated 35 different welfare projects worth Rs 270 crore and laid foundation stones for 22 other developmental projects worth Rs 526 crore.

As a tribute to the martyred CRPF jawans who were killed in the Pulwama terrorist attack on February 14, a moment of silence was observed before beginning the youth conclave. Later, the Prince Dance Group also performed patriotic dances at the programme.

Several local political leaders, officials of the district administration along with executive chairman of Odisha Youth Welfare Board (OYWB) Arup Patnaik attended the event.

Thousands of youths from Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal district took part in the conclave.
