Berhampur: With senior BJP leader and party spokesperson Golak Mohapatra already finding it difficult to get out of Chhatrapur Councillor Laxmidutta Pradhan’s murder accusations, posters taunting him have surfaced all over the Silk City, today.
Posters released in the name of Ganjam District Intellectual Forum were spotted across the city this morning and were seen categorically giving a call for boycott of Golak. Dubbing him as the main conspirator of the Councillor murder case, the intellectual forum appealed people to prevent the BJP spokesperson from entering into Ganjam district through these posters and demanded his immediate arrest.
While the authenticity of the posters could not be vouched for, Berhampur Police swung into action following the incident and have started a probe reaching the spot.
It may be recalled here that the Chhatrapur Councillor was brutally hacked to death by a group of assailants in front of his home in Suryanagar in Chhatrapur on September 16. Police had arrested 15 persons involved in the case, however the two key conspirators Krushna Chandra Nayak and Duryaodhan Reddy had managed to escape to Cuttack, Kolkata and then to Uttarakhand. They were arrested from Uttarakhand on October 28.
As per allegations, Krushna had contacted Mohapatra 19 times from Uttarakhand, where he had been holed up before being caught by Ganjam Police. BJP termed it as a conspiracy of Ganjam police.
