Landmine recovered in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: Security personnel recovered a landmine during a combing operation in Maoist-infested Langalakanta forest under K Balang police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Saturday morning.

According to sources, CRPF Jawans detected a landmine weighing around 15 kg while conducting combing operation in Langalakanta forest to check the leftist extremists during their observance of Saheed Saptah in the area.

Later, the bomb disposal squad safely defused the landmine.

It is suspected that the landmine might have been planted to target inflict casualties on the security forces. Meanwhile, search operations have been intensified in the region to counter the activities of the Maoists.
