Puri: Lakhs of devotees moved in long queues to have a glimpse of the Trinity in ‘Suna Besha’ (Gold attire) here on Tuesday,
The darshan of the deities began after the servitors decorated the hands and feet of the Trinity with gold plates. Lord Jagannath was adorned with a chakra (disc) made of gold on the right hand while a silver conch adorned his left hand. Lord Balabhadra was decorated with a plough made of gold on the left hand and a golden mace on his right.
As many as 125 platoons of police force have been deployed for the smooth conduct of Suna Besha, also known as Raja Besha. Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic locations on the Bada Danda (Grand Road) to keep a vigil on any possible mischief.
