Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident a lady doctor killed herself allegedly by administering a poisonous injection today.
The deceased has been identified as Manaswini Barik of Melchhamunda village of Bargarh. She was working in a private hospital here in the state capital city.
According to reports, Barik killed herself in a rented house at Shree Vihar of Chandrasekharpur. She was living alone since her divorce from husband six months ago.
On being informed, Chandrasekharpur Police recovered her body and sent it to the Capital hospital for postmortem.
While the reason behind her death is yet to be known, her family members alleged that she has been murdered by some people over past enmity. They also have registered a case with the Chandrasekharpur Police. They claimed that Manaswini supposed to travel to the village for the nuakhai celebration yesterday. However, she could not as she has been murdered.
Based on their complaint, police have started an investigation into the matter.
Police also have seized many things including her mobile.Besides, they are interrogating to some of the staff of the hospital where she was working. However, said the exact cause of her death will be known only after postmortem.
